This module provides a closer look and analysis of the Musculoskeletal System as applicable for medical interpreters. The main focus is to expose participants to complex medical terminology associated with the system while expanding upon the concepts learned in the introductory module. Likewise, the interpretation activities prepare students for real-life encounters of medical interpreters.
Mauricio Suarez is a Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) and has over seven years of experience in the field of medical interpretation. He has worked extensively at many renowned hospitals in the Texas Medical Center such as MD Anderson Cancer Center, Memorial Hermann Hospital, Methodist Hospital, among many others since joining MasterWord in 2011. Before joining the company, he started his career as a medical Spanish interpreter working at Ben Taub and LBJ County hospitals in Houston, Texas. He was over three year of experience as an interpreter trainer for MasterWord’s 40-Hour Intensive Medical Training Program, and is one of the developers and curators of the Online version for this program.
